Linux Software Development Intern Positions ($17-20+/hr DOQ)

We’re looking for students that are savvy with software development and that want to gain real-world experience this summer. This is a full-time position with up to forty (40) hours per week, but we’re open to candidates looking for part-time work. This position lasts up to five (5) months with the possibility of continued employment in the future. The rate for this position is $17-$20/hour+ DOQ.

The student(s) hired into positions will work in our Menomonie, WI office, which is located close to the Mayo Clinic. Employment can start as early as late April or as late as early June.

In this position, you’ll be working with some cutting edge computer vision and AI technology and developing new solutions to help develop a solution for automatically decoding ancient languages (such as Egyptian Heiroglyphics). For more information on the project you’ll be working on, visit

Your primary responsibilities will include one or more of the following:
– Developing programs and algorithms related to computer vision, image analysis, pattern matching, artificial intelligence, and more
– Researching new methods for solving technical problems

Things that are required for this position:

– Proficiency with email clients and email communication
– Proficiency with PHP, C, C++, and/or Shell scripting languages
– Proficiency with Linux or UNIX operating systems
– Experience writing non-GUI (e.g. server-side or command-line) applications

Things that would be ideal, but are not necessarily required:
– Experience with CentOS, Fedora, or RedHat Linux
– Experience using MySQL databases
– Interest in and knowledge of ancient languages, civilizations, archaeology
